Songwriters – Music and Lyrics – Jay Gruska / Paul Gordon  – Book and Lyrics – Seth Friedman

LUCKY BREAK is based on the 1976 film, “The Front”, and tells the story of a small time loser who suddenly finds himself “fronting” for a famous blacklisted television writer in 1950’s New York at the height of the McCarthy era.    More a love story than political anthem, LUCKY BREAK had its first reading in  the spring of 2007 at Manhattan Theater Club in New York.  In the winter of 2008 it received another workshop in New York under the direction of John Caird.
